The best time to go to Lizard Island is generally between October and March, during the warmer, wetter season when the marine life is particularly active and the water temperatures are ideal for snorkelling and diving. This period sees the most vibrant coral spawning events, attracting a diverse array of fish and other marine creatures, making it a prime time for underwater exploration. While there can be occasional tropical showers, they are usually brief and often add to the lushness of the island's vegetation. Couples looking for a romantic escape will appreciate the warm evenings and the opportunity for moonlit beach walks. For those who prefer slightly cooler temperatures and less humidity, the dry season from April to September is also a good option. The weather is consistently sunny and pleasant, with clear skies, which is superb for outdoor activities like hiking to Cook's Look for panoramic views or enjoying a picnic on one of the island's many secluded beaches.
